Baltimore, MD – A Gaithersburg resident renewed his interest in the Lottery after winning $50,000 in the Powerball Double Play drawing on September 9. The casual player held one of two winning Maryland Double Play tickets in that night’s drawing.

The lottery jackpot was an estimated $176 million with a cash option of $89.4 million for Wednesday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Aug. 19 when a California lottery player won a $44.3 million jackpot.
