Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler 4xe are back and better than ever for next year, but one powertrain pairing is an interesting addition.

Staring with the new model year, you'll no longer be able to buy a Wrangler with the venerable Pentastar V-6 and an automatic transmission. Instead, the base model Jeep Wrangler will keep its 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6, but only with a six-speed manual. Previously, the slushbox was a $4500 upgrade.

When I saw the price of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition, I was astounded by its $91,545 base price and MSRP of $108,475. I looked twice. Then I considered all of the other cars I could put in my garage for that amount of lucre.

In a lot of ways, the Jeep Wrangler is like it’s always been for 2025. It’s still a convertible, still a 4×4, and still sure to be a fan favorite. But the newest Wrangler lineup continues the model’s modernization kick by ditching a feature it’s never been without: manual crank windows.
